I was fortunate enough to have already moved in the UK by the time COVID hit back in 2019. I say fortunate, because, unlike many other countries, the UK did not impose very strict rules when it came to being able to leave your house to say go for a walk, while the majority of the world was in complete lockdown.
This allowed me to experiment with different types of hobbies since we were not able to do much else. It was then that I borrowed my girlfriend's camera the NIKON D3400 and started capturing all sorts of random frames whenever we'd be wandering around the streets of London.
Through photography I was able to escape the constant daily headlines about the situation the world was in as well as the unknown as to when lockdowns throughout the world would start to ease. It allowed my to simply focus in the moment - living life one frame at a time.
Fast forward to today and thousands of frames later, photography is more than just a hobby but a way living through life from a different perspective. I've learned an enormous amount of things not just about how to handle a camera, different camera settings etc. but also how to view different situations from a different angle, to always seek for context and a fresh viewpoint.
